Pakistan LNG decided against awarding slots for three LNG cargo deliveries in December and January to two Swiss-based trading houses.

Trafigura has been selected as a supplier under a tender seeking four shipments for December, Reuters reports, citing trade sources.

Trafigura has reportedly submitted the lowest bid for the December 1-2 window while Gunvor and B.B. Energy placed bids to deliver the remaining three cargoes for the month.

Under a tender seeking January shipments, Gunvor placed the lowest bids for two delivery slots, namely the January 16-17 and 21-22, however, neither will be awarded.

Sources were reported as saying the company did not favour the prices.

The cargoes sought in the tender are to be delivered to BW Group’s FSRU BW Integrity that will serve as Pakistan’s second LNG terminal at Port Qasim. The vessel is employed by PGP consortium, a subsidiary of Pakistan GasPort consortium.

However, the LNG terminal project has been delayed for months as the connecting pipeline has still not been completed.
