Singapore-based Ultra Deep Solutions (UDS) has secured a five-year contract for its DP2 multipurpose diving support and construction vessel (DSCV) ‘Van Gogh’.

The 111.5 meters long Van Gogh is equipped with 18-men single bell saturation system for depth down to 300 meters. The vessel has its own moonpool, an air diving system, and it is fitted with an observation remotely operated vehicle with LARS.

The vessels is built at the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) yard in Shenzhen to a new green design by Marin Teknikk with diesel electric frequency controlled propulsion, azimuth thrusters, dynamic positioning system and 150t offshore crane.

The delivery of the Van Gogh to the client is scheduled between May 01, 2018, to June 01, 2018, UDS said. The vessel will sail under Malaysian flag and be able to accommodate 120 persons on board.

The company did not disclose the name of the client, nor the value of the contract.

Shel Hutton , CEO of UDS, said:

“This is now our 3 rd vessel in our fleet coming out. Our UDS team has worked so hard to build the Van Gogh into a world-class ship. I would like to also thank all our financial supporting groups and most of all our Charters who believed strongly in our fleet. It shows UDS will now move to the next level in the Subsea sector.

“Right now we feel the Subsea market is in the infancy of a break-out. The last few years have been very tough for all companies in the Industry. At UDS we are in a very good position to be competitive in any market,”
