Exports of liquefied natural gas from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass LNG export facility in Louisiana remained flat, according to a report by the Energy Information Administration.
Four LNG vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 14 billion cubic feet departed the liquefaction plant since Wednesday last week, remaining the same as the week before, EIA’s weekly report shows.
However, unlike last week when one tanker with a capacity of 3.8 Bcf was loading at the terminal, EIA said that two vessels with an LNG-carrying capacity of 6.9 Bcf combined were loading at the terminal on Wednesday.
Natural gas pipeline deliveries to Sabine Pass averaged 3 Bcf/d for the week ending December 6, remaining the same as previous week.
EIA noted that the Dominion Energy’s Cove Point liquefaction terminal in Lusby, Maryland, has continued commissioning activities by introducing feed gas on December 5 , 2017. The facility is expected to be placed in service by the end of this year. Cove Point will become the second liquefaction terminal in the Lower 48 states and the only LNG terminal on the U.S. east coast.
