Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) have invited tenders for geotechnical investigations at the Hollandse Kust Noord Wind Farm Zone (HKNWFZ).
In November 2017 , Dutch government released early information about the tender, giving out the specifics, including an estimation of the total value at EUR 4 million. Now, upon inviting the bids, the total value of the contracts is estimated to be worth EUR 6.5 million.
The tender , open until 1 February 2018, is divided into two lots, with companies allowed to bid for one or both of them.
Lot one, which carries 25-35 % of the total value, covers seabed piezocone penetration tests (PCPTs) campaign with a target depth of 50-60m.
The remaining 65-75 % of the total value is at Lot two, which involves continuous sampling PCPT boreholes with a target depth of 50-80m and seismic PCPT boreholes with a target depth of 50-60m, vibrocoring, MIC testing, a laboratory testing programme (cyclic and static) on the obtained soil samples, and creating a detailed geological ground model.
RVO pointed out that the geotechnical soil investigations of the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm sites I & II will be the reference for the Scope of Work.
This soil information will be made available to the participants in the concession tenders for this offshore wind farm zone. The Hollandse Kust Noord (700MW) concession tender is scheduled for 2019, while the one for Hollandse Kust Zuid I & II – the first subsidy-free offshore wind tender – is currently ongoing with the winner expected to be announced in March 2018.
