The Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co. (JVPC) has reportedly chartered one of Petrovietnam’s jack-up drilling rigs.

According to data provided by VesselsValue, JVPC, a subsidiary of JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corporation, chartered the PV Drilling I jack-up drilling rig.

The five-month term deal was agreed on December 27, 2017, and will begin on May 1, 2018. The end of the term deal is expected on September 30.

The last time Offshore Energy Today reported on the PV Drilling I rig was in September . Namely, Petrovietnam Drilling entered into a contract for the provision of the rig to the Singapore-based oil company KrisEnergy in Thailand.

The two companies entered the deal on August 21, 2017, for six firm wells and two optional wells.

PV Drilling I is a KFels Mod V B class jack-up capable of operating in water depths up to 300 feet and can drill up to 25,000 feet. The rig was built by KeppelFels in Singapore in 2007.
