Dutch provider of heavy lift and accommodation solutions OOS International has taken delivery of its new semi-submersible accommodation vessel (SSAV), the OOS Tiradentes.
The naming and delivery ceremony for the SSAV took place at CIMC Raffles in Yantai on Wednesday, February 7.
The vessel, named after a Brazilian national hero who stood up for independence, will have its next base in Brazil where it will work for oil company Petrobras.

“Bearing this in mind, with the OOS Tiradentes, OOS International responds directly to the increasing client demands supporting Petrobras on their offshore operations.”
The OOS Tiradentes is a deepwater semi-submersible accommodation vessel built to UK-HSE standards and is ABS Habitability compliant. It is also equipped with an advanced telescopic gangway, DP class 3 system for positioning, and accommodation capacity for 600 people. The unit can reach a speed of over 11 knots and allows DPS-2 operations under the closed bus-tie mode for reduction of energy consumption.
The traditional breaking of the champagne bottle against the hull of the vessel was done by the vessel’s godmother, Daniëlle Keijzer of OOS International, before launching the unit.
The OOS Tiradentes will join two of the company’s current heavy lift flotels, OOS Gretha and OOS Prometheus, which are already working in Brazil.
Also, the company will add two new semi-submersible heavy lift vessels to its fleet. The delivery of both vessels, the OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren, has been scheduled for 2019.
It is worth reminding that the OOS Tiradentes was first introduced in late December 2017 .
