Lithuania’s Klaipedos Nafta, signed a memorandum of understanding with US LNG export terminal developer Freeport LNG to cooperate on onshore developing onshore infrastructure for FSRU terminals.

Speaking of the agreement, Mindaugas Jusius , the CEO of the Lithuanian LNG terminal operator, said it will open the possibility for the company to offer its services to potential Freeport LNG customers.

“This agreement with Freeport LNG is another step towards implementing KN business development strategy,” he said.

It is the second agreement Lithuanian companies have signed with Freeport LNG recently, following the accord reached by the gas supply and trading company Lietuvos Dujų Tiekimas.

Freeport LNG is currently developing a liquefied natural gas export facility on Quintana Island in Texas, and is set to start deliveries from its initial train by the end of this year, with two more LNG trains to follow in 2019.
