SeaRoc Group has delivered three offshore wind consultancy projects in South East Asia.

SeaRoc facilitated and chaired a Design Risk Assessment workshop for the Formosa I offshore wind farm in Taiwan, which covered the full project scope, including all major subsuppliers (turbines, foundations, installation and electrical Balance of Plant), and provided a report and recommendations to the project.

In Japan, the UK-based company secured a contract by an industry trade association for wind power to produce a report in partnership with The Carbon Trust about the European experience in offshore wind farm construction and operations and maintenance.

SeaRoc was also commissioned by Hyundai Engineering & Steel Industries in South Korea to produce a report on the role of marine coordination and regulations governing offshore wind farm construction, which included details about the infrastructure, equipment, systems, regulations, personnel and training requirements for carrying out safe and effective marine coordination.

“South East Asia is a growing market in terms of offshore wind, with a number of projects already in development and many more in planning. We are increasingly being contracted for our vast experience in the sector and have become a reliable and trusted source for critical information and education in these developing markets,” Steve Pears , SeaRoc Group Managing Director, said.

The company recently appointed Neil Pittam as the new Head of Consultancy, who will be in charge of delivering the strategy to provide specialist support and advice to developing markets within the offshore renewable energy sector.
