Black Diamond Group said the company’s Workforce Solutions business unit has been conditionally awarded a $42.5 million camp contract for the Coastal GasLink pipeline project.

The camp will provide remote workforce accommodations for the construction of the proposed pipeline, Black Diamond Group said, adding that the contract award is conditional upon a positive final investment decision by the LNG Canada, joint venture participants.

In connection with its indigenous partnership with the West Moberly First Nations, the company has conditionally secured a 908-bed turnkey camp contract for 27 months to service the construction of the project.

Pipeline construction is expected to begin in early 2019 and first revenue is anticipated concurrently.

The camp will be constructed utilizing the company’s existing accommodation assets and any associated new capital investment required is expected to be nominal.

TransCanada’s Coastal GasLink pipeline will run approximately 670 km in length, delivering natural gas from the Dawson Creek area of northern B.C. to a facility near Kitimat, B.C., where it will be liquefied for export by LNG Canada.

The project recently awarded four contracts for the construction of the proposed pipeline with a total value of CAD2.8 billion ($2.1 billion), to Surerus Murphy joint venture, SA Energy Group, Macro Spiecapag JV and Pacific Atlantic Pipeline Construction.
