The Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP) has just announced the latest update on the Tai O dredging project, saying that a significant amount of dredging operations will be conducted in this area for a period of approximately eight months.

The works will be conducted by a flotilla of vessels including one derrick lighter, one hopper barge, tugboats and one work boat.

A working area of approximately 15 meters around each working vessel will be established. Yellow marker buoys fitted with yellow flashing lights will be laid to mark the positions of the anchors extending from the working vessels.

The number of vessels engaged in the works will change from time to time to suit operational requirements, said MARAD.
