UK-based marine consultancy Waves Group has been selected as Marine Warranty Surveyors for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm development.

The contract has commenced and will be for the duration of the construction phase into 2021.

The project will involve the transportation and installation of monopile foundations, wind turbine generators, the offshore substation platform and laying of subsea array and export cables with landfall.

The 860MW Triton Knoll offshore wind farm is a GBP 2 billion investment off the coast of Lincolnshire and 28 miles from the coast of Norfolk. The project is owned by innogy UK who has a 59% share with JPower and Kansai Electric having 25% and 16% share respectively.

Waves Group and innogy had previously cooperated on the Galloper offshore wind farm.

Triton Knoll will feature 90 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines scheduled to be fully operational in 2022.
