The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Galveston District has just released a video in which the District’s project manager, Shakhar Misir, gives an update on the Greens Bayou Flood Damage Reduction Project located in North Houston.

In the video, Misir provides background on the cooperative efforts between the Harris County Flood Control District and USACE.

The project involves the creation of detention basins and channel improvements between Cutten Road and Veterans Memorial Drive to help reduce flood risks.

This flood protection program started in May 2015 and is scheduled for completion in December 2022.
