With the building permit for the adaptation of the fairway obtained, the actual work to facilitate access to the Port of Hamburg can now begin.
In its latest video, the Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) explains how the fairway from the port to the mouth of the Elbe will be deepened and widened in some places, allowing larger ships to pass through without any problems.
The environmental damage caused by the expansion will be offset by extensive ecological measures.
