Kraken Robotics has secured a contract from Public Works and Government Services Canada valued at $468,000, to provide services for the Canadian Department of National Defense (DND).

Under the contract, Kraken will provide testing, repairs, integration and upgrading of an AquaPix Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Sonar (InSAS) sensor.

The AquaPix InSAS sensor was originally sold to DND for integration on the Artic Explorer Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) in 2014.

AquaPix is capable of providing detailed seabed images from each side of an underwater vehicle, and to produce 3D bathymetric data.
