Palfinger Marine has won a contract to supply complete winch packages for two of Esvagt’s offshore wind service operation vessels (SOVs).

The two SOVs will be built by Havyard and are of the of the Havyard 831 L SOV design.

The 70.5m long vessels will be equipped with a compensated walk-to-work gangway and daughter craft, and will have the capacity to accommodate up to 60 persons.

Back in September, MHI Vestas and Esvagt signed a 15-year contract for two SOVs. Once delivered, the vessels will serve the 731.5MW Borssele III & IV offshore wind farm in the Netherlands, and the 860MW Triton Knoll wind farm in the UK.

The contract has an option for another SOV which would operate on the 950MW Moray East wind farm in Scotland.
