Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MHB) has been awarded a contract to build the Pluto water handling module from TechnipFMC for Woodside.
Upon completion, the module will be installed on Woodside Energy existing Pluto Alpha gas production platform, located offshore Western Australia.
The module is targeted for completion in the fourth quarter of 2020.
TechnipFMC secured the contract in June for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of the Pluto water handling module that will consist of facilities for water separation and treatment, together with upgraded power generation units.
The Pluto offshore facility is located approximately 190 kilometers off Karratha, in Western Australia’s north-west.
The produced gas from the offshore facility is transferred through an existing pipeline to Woodside’s Pluto LNG onshore plant.
