India’s biggest refiner, Indian Oil Corp, has reportedly purchased the commissioning cargo for its Ennore liquefied natural gas terminal at the Kamarajar port in south India.
Sources told Reuters the partial cargo purchased from the Swiss commodity trader Gunvor is set for delivery on February 26 as the facility nears start-up.
To remind, IOC issued a tender for the commissioning cargo at the end of January.
The facility being developed by Indian Oil Corporation through its joint venture company, Indian Oil LNG will have the capacity to handle 5 million tons of LNG per year, equivalent to around 20 million cubic meters per day.
It is the first LNG import facility on the eastern coast of India, and the regasified LNG will be distributed to power generation plants, fertilizer plants and other industrial units as well as transport sector, commercial sector and households.
