US-based energy major Chevron has reportedly restarted production from its third liquefaction train at the Gorgon LNG plant on Barrow Island in Western Australia.
The unit was brought back online over the past weekend following an outage that lasted since mid-January when a mechanical issue caused a halt, Reuters reports citing industry sources.
Chevron spokesperson could share no details on the effect the shutdown had on the production from the facility.
Gorgon LNG facility is capable of producing 15.6 million mt/year from its three trains.
The project is operated by Chevron that owns a 47.3 percent stake, while other shareholders are ExxonMobil (25 percent), Shell (25 percent), Osaka Gas (1.25 percent), Tokyo Gas (1 percent) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417 percent).
