French construction company Eiffage through its Eiffage Génie Civil Marine unit has been awarded an EPCI deal for the BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim Field Development Phase 1 offshore Mauritania and Senegal.
Eiffage secured the deal in consortium with the Italian contractor Saipem to perform the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the hub/terminal, with Eiffage portion of the contract valued at €350 million ($397.9 million).
This contract has been awarded further to the execution of the front end engineering design (FEED) contract started in April 2018, Eiffage said in its statement.
The near-shore hub/terminal marine infrastructure, awarded under the new contract, is encompassing berthing facilities for a permanently moored FLNG, the loading of LNG carriers, and an offshore breakwater to shelter those facilities.
The 21 concrete caissons (16 500 ton each), forming the breakwater will be built by Eiffage in Dakar (Senegal). In addition, the 2.5 million tons of quarry materials required for the underwater rumble mound for the caissons bed is expected to be produced, transported and loaded for installation from Mauritania.
The initial subsea infrastructure connects via production pipelines to a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel. From there, liquids are removed and the export gas is transported via pipeline to the floating liquid natural gas (FLNG) hub terminal where the gas is liquefied.
The Tortue Ahmeyim field development is located in the C-8 block offshore Mauritania and the Saint-Louis Profond block offshore Senegal.
