Russian giant Gazprom and the German utility company Uniper have discussed further cooperation during a meeting in Moscow.
Gazprom said on Wednesday that Russian gas supplies and the progress of the Nord Stream 2 project were discussed at the meeting between Alexey Miller , the chairman of the Gazprom management committee, and Bernhard Reutersberg , chairman of the supervisory board of Uniper.
The Nord Stream 2 pipeline will transport natural gas from the world’s largest reserves in Russia to the EU internal market. The twin pipeline, which involves two parallel 48-inch lines, will go through the Baltic Sea, from Russia to Greifswald in Germany. It will run roughly parallel to the existing Nord Stream pipeline.
It was noted at the meeting that about 830 kilometers of pipes – some 34 percent of the gas pipeline’s total length – has been laid in the Baltic Sea to date.
This is the second meeting in quick succession between Miller and Reutersberg as the two met in St. Petersburg back in February .
