French offshore vessel provider Bourbon has sold one of its anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels to Canada’s Horizon Maritime.
A Bourbon spokesperson told Offshore Energy Today that the vessel, owned by Bourbon subsidiary Bourbon Offshore Norway, was sold to Horizon, with the vessel sale price being confidential. VesselsValue estimates the sale price is $41.5 million.
Also, Bourbon Offshore Norway signed a ship management contract with Horizon and will carry out ship management services of the vessel in 2019.
As for the vessel, the Bourbon Arctic was built by the Vard Brattvåg shipyard in Norway and delivered in March 2016 .
At the time of the delivery, it was dubbed as the vessel with the highest board pull in the world with 307 tonnes in boost mode and 193 tonnes in diesel-electric mode.
The dual-fueled vessel was fitted with a strengthened hull and Ice class winterization equipment for work in temperatures down to -20° C.
The Bourbon Arctic can welcome up to 60 persons including crew and can be used as a floatel when not engaged in anchor-handling operations.

AIS data provided by Marine Traffic shows the vessel is currently in the Norwegian Sea, servicing the Leiv Eiriksson semi-submersible drilling rig.
