Norwegian offshore shipowner Solstad Offshore has signed a contract with Shell for the platform supply vessel Normand Starling. It has also won contracts for two PSVs with an undisclosed client.

The vessel, built in 2013 and formerly known as Far Starling, will begin its contract with Shell in the second quarter of 2019. The contract has a firm duration of two years.

According to Solstad Offshore, the Normand Starling platform supply vessel will support Shell’s activities in Brazilian waters.

Data from Marine Traffic shows the vessel is already in Rio de Janeiro, having arrived there from South Africa.

Apart from the Normand Starling contract, Solstad on Friday also said it had won contracts with an undisclosed client for two of the company’s PSVs, starting early in 2Q 2019.

The contract duration for each vessel is 185 days firm plus options. Solstad did not say which vessels would be used for this contract.
