Offshore driller Noble Corporation has been awarded contract extensions for a semi-submersible drilling rig and a drillship.
According to the driller’s latest fleet status report, the Noble Clyde Boudreaux semi-submersible drilling rig has been awarded a one-year contract extension, which will keep the rig busy until mid-March 2020. The contract is with PTTEP for operations offshore Myanmar.
According to Bassoe, the rig’s dayrate under this contract with PTTEP is estimated to be at $120,000.
Before it started its contract with Thailand’s PTTEP, the Noble Clyde Boudreaux last year underwent a reactivation and upgrade project in the Sembcorp Marine shipyard in Singapore.
The Noble Clyde Boudreaux is a conventionally-moored, ultra-deepwater semi-submersible capable of operating in water depths up to 10,000 feet. The rig has a large deck area and a 16-point mooring system that allows it to withstand major storm conditions and dual-activity capability.
Furthermore, the Noble Don Taylor drillship has been awarded a contract extension, which will run from mid-April 2019 to early June 2019. The contract is with Talos in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
In addition, the Noble Don Taylor has been awarded a one-year contract with ExxonMobil in Guyana. The contract is from early October 2019 until early October 2020 and Bassoe’s dayrate estimate for the contract is $175,000.
It is worth reminding that, in September 2018, Shell exercised a contractual right to idle the Noble Don Taylor rig for the remainder of its contract, which concluded on February 25, 2019. During the idle period, the rig received daily revenue of $420,000.
