Mackley – one of the contractors behind the Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls scheme – recently released a video about the project.
Construction of the new 7.2km tidal defenses began in September 2016, as many of the old defenses came to the end of their useful life.
The new defenses cover 1.8km on the east bank of the River Adur between Coronation Green and the A27 road bridge – and 5.4km on the west bank between the river mouth and the A27 road bridge.
This £45 million project will better protect over 2,300 homes and 169 commercial properties, as well as important local infrastructure such as the road network, railway line and Shoreham Airport.
The Shoreham Adur Tidal Walls Scheme has been awarded a Bronze National Site Award from the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
