Bourbon – Oceanteam’s construction support vessel (CSV) Southern Ocean will support Fugro for a deepwater ROV subsea installation project off the coast of Sabah, Malaysia.
The CSV Southern Ocean has entered into a contract with Fugro and will undertake a program of deepwater ROV subsea installation.
Oceanteam said on Thursday that the mobilization of CSV Southern Ocean will start early in July 2019 in Singapore. The works are expected to be completed sometime in the third quarter of 2019, the company added.
Mathieu Feisthauer , Fleet and Chartering Manager of Oceanteam, said: “Fugro, Oceanteam and the Southern Ocean have a long history together. Oceanteam views the re-chartering of the Southern Ocean by Fugro, as a vote of confidence in the capabilities of the vessel. Oceanteam is confident that the CSV Southern Ocean will manage to service the end-client to full satisfaction.”
It is worth reminding that, back in May, McDermott awarded a charter extension to the CSV Southern Ocean for operations offshore India. As a result, the vessel’s next charterer Fugro canceled the subsequent charter agreement for the vessel as it could not be delivered on the agreed date.
The 2010-built Southern Ocean is a DP2 construction support/flexible product installation vessel used for field support, construction, installation, and IRM.
