Norwegian offshore supply vessel provider Golden Energy Offshore has officially expanded its fleet with two platform supply vessels.
The naming ceremony for the Norway-designed, China-built, sister vessels ‘Energy Empress’ and ‘Energy Duchess’ was held on Saturday, June 29, 2019, when Golden Energy Offshore CEO Per Ivar Fagervoll revealed that the ‘Energy Empress’ would be headed for her first assignment on July 1, 2019.
To remind, the vessel owner originally took the delivery of the Energy Empress on May 13, 2019, and the delivery of Energy Duchess took place on Monday, May 27 , but the naming ceremony was officially held this past weekend.
The platform supply vessels have been designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS and are based on Ulstein’s PX121 design. According to Ulstein, a total of thirty PX121 vessels have been built so far.
The Energy Empress and Energy Duchess have been built at the Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipments Co., Ltd (“ROC”) yard, China, and according to Ulstein, boast an extra accommodation deck.
In a separate statement on Monday, Golden Energy Offshore said the contract for the Energy Empress is with a “first-class oil company” on Norwegian continental shelf. The contract is for up to 60 days and the vessel has started its charter on Monday.
