The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has temporarily suspended the bunker craft operator licence of Inter-Pacific Petroleum Pte Ltd.
The authority informed that the move was made following an enforcement check on a bunker tanker operated by Inter-Pacific.
The licence was suspended with effect from June 27, 2019, until further notice.
During the period of the licence suspension, Inter-Pacific is not allowed to operate as a bunker craft operator in the Port of Singapore.
The suspension is the latest action undertaken by the MPA, that oversees the world’s largest bunkering and marine fuel trading hub.
In early May, MPA Singapore revoked the bunker craft operator licence of Southernpec (Singapore) Pte Ltd as the company engaged in a bunker malpractice involving the use of a magnet during a bunkering operation.
The company had also failed to inform MPA on the appointment of its cargo officers to work on all the bunker craft operated by Southernpec.
The authority earlier launched an investigation to see whether Southernpec breached the terms of a bunker supplier licence issued by MPA.
