Northern Offshore Group is making a strategic investment in the UK-based CPower Energy with an aim to broaden its activities in the offshore wind industry.
According to Northern Offshore, the owners have followed CPower during its first couple of years in the business and saw the acquisition as part of a long-term growth strategy across various segments within the marine industry.
CPower will continue to be managed by its founders and current management, as a standalone business and out of its existing premises.
The UK company will have the support of Northern Offshore and this partnership is expected to enable it to take advantage of a long-term strategy that will help realize its full potential, Northern Offshore said.
“We are very excited about this strategic acquisition, as we can contribute with our experience, knowledge and our wide network within the industry,” said David Kristensson , CEO of Northern Offshore Group.
CPower Energy focuses on a variety of jobs within both the construction and O&M phases of offshore wind farms and offers consultancy and recruitment of industry professionals.
At the beginning of the year, CPower secured a contract with Ørsted to provide personnel for its offshore wind projects in the Netherlands.
