Offshore drilling contractor Shelf Drilling has executed a two-year extension for each of the Shelf Drilling Tenacious and the Shelf Drilling Mentor jack-up rigs.
The extension is in continuation of the rigs’ existing contracts through priced options exercised by the customer. The company’s fleet status report reveals the customer is Dubai Petroleum in the UAE.
Both rigs are now committed until January 2022, the rig owner said on Thursday.
According to Bassoe Offshore, the estimated dayrate for each of the rigs is $60,000.
To remind, Shelf’s two drilling rigs, Shelf Drilling Tenacious and the Shelf Drilling Mentor, in 2017 each won a two-year contract with Dubai Petroleum , including two one-year options.
The rigs started their contracts in January 2018.
