Malaysian offshore vessel owner Icon Offshore has received a contract extension for its Icon Kayra offshore vessel.

In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Thursday, Icon Offshore said that Zell Transportation had extended the contract for the vessel on May 10, but the shipowner only got permission to disclose the deal yesterday.

Icon Offshore had via its Brunei subsidiary Icon Bahtera signed the original five-year contract back in 2014 with Zell for the vessel to operate for Shell in Brunei. It was then also agreed that Zell would have an option to extend for two more years.

The contract has now been extended for two more years and Zell will have a further one-year extension option. The Icon Kayra is a DP2 Accommodation Workboat (AWB).

Brunei Shell Petroleum Company in 2017 recognized the vessel with the Best Performing Vessel award.
