French tidal and ocean stream turbine developer Sabella has appointed Benoît Bazire as chairman of board of directors.

Jean François Daviau president and founder of Sabella, has decided to leave his position as head of the company.

He remains a shareholder and board member of Sabella.

To continue its development, Sabella said it must now move from the sale and production of demonstrators to industrial production, through obtaining commercial contracts.

For this new phase, the company has a dual governance board of directors: Benoît Bazire as chairman and Fanch le Bris has been confirmed in his position as chief executive officer.

Bazire is a engineer of maritime engineering. He first served the stateat the Ministry of Defense.

In 2014, Bazire created a consulting company, CALETI. In this capacity, he performs research assignments and participates as an independent director or chairman of the board in the management of industrial or engineering companies.

Sabella plans to carry out an additional fundraising in early September via the GWENNEG crowdfunding platform.
