Dutch Heerema Fabrication Group has performed the last roll-up of the jacket structure for Equinor’s Peregrino C platform – to be installed at a location offshore Brazil – at its Vlissingen yard in the Netherlands.
The Equinor-operated Peregrino oil field is located in licenses BM-C-7 and BM-C-47, approximately 85km offshore Brazil, in the Campos basin, in water depths of 100m. It is the company’s largest international operation outside Norway.
The field consists of two fixed wellhead platforms and floating production storage and offloading unit.
The Peregrino C platform is part of the Peregrino Phase II Project, which includes the addition of a third fixed wellhead platform.
Equinor on Sunday launched a video of the Peregrino C jacket roll-up. When the new Peregrino C platform in Brazil comes on stream in late 2020, it will create 200 long term jobs offshore – and create ripple effects onshore Brazil, Equinor said.
The platform will contribute to prolonging the lifetime for the Peregrino field and will create value for 20 years. It will add 273 million in recoverable reserves.
This summer pipelines and subsea equipment manufactured in Brazil will be installed at the seabed, and late this year the platform will be installed at the field. The legs come first, and this spring the final steel structure was lifted into place in a roll-up.
As previously reported, TechnipFMC’s flagship deepwater pipelay and construction vessel Deep Blue earlier this month embarked on the subsea project of laying a pipeline on the Peregrino Phase 2 Project.
The Deep Blue will install rigid and flexible pipelines as well as PLET structures in water depths of 100 meters about 85 kilometers off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The vessel will participate in an installation phase that will take place across two campaigns. Mobilizations for these will be carried out at the Evanton Spoolbase in North Scotland. Another vessel from TechnipFMC’s fleet will also take part in the project at a later date.
