LNG exports from the three liquefaction plants located on Curtis Island off Gladstone reached 1.69 million tons of LNG in July.
The volume was spread across 25 cargoes, data from the Gladstone Ports Corporation shows.
Compared to the corresponding month in 2018, when the three facilities exported a total of 1.65 million tons in the same number of cargoes, this represents a 2.5 percent increase.
However, compared to the previous month, when exports reached 1.82 mt, in 27 shipments, July figures dropped 7.2 percent.
China remained the main importer of Australian LNG with 1.25 mt landing at Chinese import facilities.
The remaining volumes landed in South Korea (178,605 tons), Japan (131,755 tons) and Malaysia (125,921 tons), the data shows.
So far this year, the three facilities shipped a total of 12.64 million tons of LNG, with the majority, 9.13 million tons landing in China.
The LNG export plants located on Curtis Island include Shell’s Queensland Curtis LNG, Santos Gladstone LNG, and the ConocoPhillips-operated Australia Pacific LNG terminal.
