Norwegian oil major Equinor has received consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to use the Island Wellserver vessel for light well intervention.

The PSA said that the consent concerns an extension to an existing light well intervention consent and a new work operation using a coil hose.
According to the safety body, the activity is scheduled to begin in September 2019 and will last until March 31, 2020.
It is worth reminding that Equinor received consent from the PSA in early July to use the Island Wellserver and Island Frontier vessels for well intervention on Trestakk and Utgard fields.
In related news, Equinor has recently been granted consent to start-up the Utgard field in the North Sea. The start-up is scheduled for September 2019.
As for the vessel itself, the Island Wellserver was built in 2008 at the Aker Langsten yard and was issued an AoC in April 2009.
