Fred. Olsen Windcarrier’s jack-up vessel Bold Tern has installed 79 turbines at the Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm in the UK.

According to the company, Bold Tern is on its way back to the Port of Hull to pick up another load of Siemens Gamesa turbines for the 1.2GW project.

Hornsea Project One will comprise a total of 174 Siemens Gamesa 7MW turbines installed some 120km off Yorkshire.

Bold Tern is in charge of installing 88 of the units, with A2SEA’s Sea Challenger responsible for installing the remaining 86 pieces.

The 1.2GW project is scheduled to be fully online in 2020, when it will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
