The NSW Roads and Maritime Services has just announced that Coffs Harbor, Inner Entrance dredging campaign is officially underway.

The contractor, Dredging Solutions Pty Ltd. started the interim dredging of the harbor inner entrance on Monday, 26 August 2019.

The dredging operation will involve the removal of up to 3,300 cubic meters of sand at the entrance to the inner harbor and at the boat ramp approach channel.

Disposal of the sand will be at a deposition site at the northern end of Jetty Beach.

According to the notice, this dredging campaign is scheduled for completion on Friday, 25 October 2019.

The entrance channel into the harbor is quite narrow and periodically experiences sand build up which can restrict boat access to the marina, wharves, fuel and other maritime related facilities located inside the harbor.

The scope of works has been developed in consultation with Coffs Harbor City Council.
