Subsea 7 has been awarded a sizeable contract by Total E&P do Brasil for the development of the Lapa North East field located offshore Brazil.
The field is located approximately 300 kilometers off the coast of the State of São Paulo, at 2,150 meters water depth in the pre-salt Santos Basin.
Total E&P do Brasil is acting as operator for and on behalf of the consortium presently composed of Total E&P do Brasil, Shell, and Repsol-Sinopec.
Subsea 7 defines a sizeable contract as being between $50 million and $150 million.
Subsea 7 said on Monday that the work scope includes the transport, installation and pre-commissioning of 35 kilometers of flexible pipelines and 20 kilometers of umbilical, connecting five wells to the FPSO Cidade de Caraguatatuba.
Project management and detailed engineering will begin immediately at Subsea 7’s office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and offshore activities are due to start in the fourth quarter 2019, the company added.

Earlier this year, TechnipFMC was awarded a significant subsea contract to supply subsea equipment for the Lapa field.
