Norway-based floating LNG giant Höegh LNG said that its tenth FSRU Höegh Galleon started its charter with Cheniere Energy.
The charter under which Höegh Galleon will serve as an LNG carrier started on Tuesday, Höegh said in a brief social media statement.
The vessel capable of holding 170,000 cubic meters of the chilled fuel has been delivered at the end of last month from the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea.
Höegh LNG signed an 18-month interim LNG carrier time charter with Cheniere Marketing International for its the Höegh Galleon in mid-July.
The terms of the time charter ensure the Höegh Galleon’s availability to serve the AIE project in Port Kembla, Australia, where Höegh LNG is the FSRU provider on a back-to-back basis, Höegh said in an earlier statement.
Höegh Galleon is planned to serve the project from the end of 2020. The FSRU is 297 meters long and 43 meters wide and will have a maximum regasification capacity of 750 million standard cubic feet per day.
