Waves Group on Offshore Wind Duty in Taiwan

Waves Group is currently providing marine warranty surveyor services at the Formosa 1 Phase 2 offshore wind farm in Taiwan.

The UK-based company is in charge of providing the marine warranty surveyor services for the installation of turbines, foundations, and infield and export cables.

According to Waves Group, the contract began in October last year and will continue through to the end of 2019.

The Formosa 1 Phase 2 will comprise 20 Siemens Gamesa 6MW turbines off the coast of Miaoli in Northwest Taiwan. Jan De Nul completed the installation of all 20 turbine foundations at the project in August.

The 120MW offshore wind project, which recently produced first power , is owned by Ørsted (35%), JERA (32.5%), Macquarie Capital (25%), and Swancor Renewable Energy (7.5%).
