Teesside-based EEW Offshore Structures (Britain) (OSB) has loaded out the final transition pieces built for the Borssele 1+2 offshore wind farm.

In total, EEW OSB manufactured and loaded out 35 transition pieces for Ørsted’s 752MW project in the Dutch North Sea.

ALE Heavy Lift is in charge of transporting the transition pieces to Sif’s facility at Maasvlakte 2 in the Port of Rotterdam.

The Borssele 1+2 offshore wind farm will comprise 94 Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines installed on monopile foundations some 23 kilometres off the coast of Zeeland. The wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned by the end of 2020.

Offshore construction at the site is expected to commence shortly. DEME Offshore’s jack-up Innovation loaded the first set of monopiles earlier this month and transported them to the wind farm.
