The UAE-based Lamprell plans to start delivering the jacket foundations for the Moray East offshore wind farm from its facility in Hamryiah at the end of the first quarter of 2020.

The upending of the jackets is ongoing, the company said.

Lamprell won a contract to manufacture and deliver 45 wind turbine jacket foundations and three substation jacket foundations for Moray East in December 2018.

The production of the jackets started in July 2019. The units are also being fabricated at Lamprell’s Sharjah yard.

Lamprell said that the project is progressing well and within budget, benefitting from the incremental investment in the yard infrastructure in 2019.

Located 22 kilometres from the coast in the Outer Moray Firth zone, the 950MW Moray East offshore wind farm will comprise 100 MHI Vestas 9.5MW turbines expected to be fully operational in 2022.
