Greek oil and gas company Energean has experienced a delay in delivery of a hull for its Energean Power FPSO, which is being built by a Cosco yard in China.

Once completed, the FPSO will be deployed at Energean’s Karish and Tanin fields located offshore Israel.
The Energean Power FPSO hull was undocked and floated out from a dock at the Cosco shipyard back in October 2019, ten months after the first steel was cut.
In an update on Wednesday, Energean said that the hull sailaway date from the Cosco Yard had been deferred to March 31, 2020, which is a delay of 3.5 months. The hull was previously expected to sail away in late 2019.
Following the completion, the hull will sail away from China to Sembcorp Marine’s yard in Singapore for integration with FPSO topsides.
Energean added that excellent progress had been made on the topsides at the Admiralty Yard in Singapore and it was still anticipated that the integrated hull and topsides would sail away from Singapore to Israel around the end of 2020 with first gas from the project anticipated during 1H 2021.
According to the company, physical progress on the project as of December 31, 2019, was 72% complete.
During 2020, all components of the subsea production system will be installed using vessels provided by TechnipFMC.
The sales gas pipeline will be installed with activities starting close to shore in territorial waters and then moving progressively offshore towards the FPSO location.
