PGE Baltica has completed a two-year wind measurement campaign on the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 wind farms in the Polish Baltic Sea.

The Floating LiDAR campaign resulted in ”high quality data confirming the appropriate wind conditions for the investment,” PGE Group said.

PGE secured the environmental permits for the 1,498MW Baltica 2 and the 1,048MW Baltica 3 projects in January. The wind farms are located approximately 25-30km from the coastal city of Łeba.

The first electricity from these offshore assets is expected to be delivered in 2025 and the first investment will enter the commercial operation phase the following year, PGE said.

PGE and Ørsted are currently in discussions for Ørsted to acquire a 50% stake in the two projects.

PGE is also developing a third offshore wind project, the 900MW Baltica 1, which is expected to be operational after 2030.
