Exports from the Peruvian liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Pampa Melchorita slipped during the first month of the year.
According to the data provided by the state-owned Perupetro, four vessels departer the facility during the month under review, with volumes totaling 674,751 cubic meters.
This represents a 24.5 percent drop compared to the volumes exported in January 2019 when the facility exported a total of 893,838 cubic meters of LNG.
Compared to the previous month when the facility shipped a total of six cargoes amounting to 994,896 cubic meters, this is a 32.2 percent drop.
Out of the four cargoes shipped in January, three landed in South Korea with the remaining cargo landing in Japan.
With the four January cargoes, the facility has shipped a total of 557 cargoes since it started operations in June 2010.
The 4.45 million tons per year gas liquefaction plant is located 170 kilometers south of Lima and receives gas via a 408-kilometer pipeline built across the Andes.
