ALP Maritime Services (ALP) has been selected by a joint venture between TechnipFMC and JGC to provide a spread of five vessels related to the Coral South FLNG project.
ALP’s project involvement includes the towage operation from South Korea to Offshore Mozambique, by three of ALP’s 300ts Bollard Pull ALP Future class vessels. On arrival at the offshore site, the three ALP Future class vessels will be joined by two additional vessels from the ALP 19,000 BHP fleet, the company said in a statement.
Together, the vessels will keep the 432m long and 66m wide Coral Sul FLNG in position, while a mooring vessel connects the pre-laid mooring chains to the FLNG. On completion of the mooring operation, two of the five ALP-vessels will continue to support further operations on site.
The FLNG is part of the Coral South project that will put in production 450 billion cubic meters of gas of the Coral reservoir, offshore Mozambique.
The FLNG will have a liquefaction capacity of 3.4 million tons per year (MTPA) and will be anchored at a water depth of around 2,000 meters by means of 20 mooring lines that weigh a combined 9,000 tons.
Eni is the operator of Area 4, holding a 50 percent indirect interest through its participation in Eni East Africa (EEA).
The remaining interests in Area 4 are held by CNODC (20 percent), Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos E.P. (ENH, 10 percent), Kogas (10 percent) and Galp Energia (10 percent).
