GTT scores tank design deal for LNG carrier pair

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist, GTT, has secured orders to design tanks for an LNG carrier pair.

GTT scores tank design deal for LNG carrier pair

French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist, GTT, has secured orders to design tanks for an LNG carrier pair.

The orders have been placed by the South Korean shipyards Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and the Hyundai Heavy Industries.

GTT said in its statement that each vessel will have the capacity to transport 174,000 cubic meters of LNG, featuring Mark III Flex membrane containment system.

The first LNGC will be built in HSHI shipyard on behalf of an Asian ship-owner whose name remains confidential at this stage. The vessel delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2022.

The second LNGC will be built in HHI shipyard on behalf of the Korean ship-owner SK Shipping Co. and will be delivered during the third quarter of 2022.
