U.S. weekly LNG exports jump

Exports of liquefied natural gas from projects in the United States jumped during the week ending April 1.

A total of 19 vessels with a combined LNG-carrying capacity of 70 Bcf departed the LNG export facilities over the period between March 26 and April 1, 2020.

In its weekly report, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) noted that out of the 19 vessels, nine departed Cheniere’s Sabine Pass export facility in Louisiana.

Cheniere’s Corpus Christi plant in Texas, as well as the Freeport LNG plant, shipped three cargoes each. Two cargoes each have been dispatched from Dominion’s Cove Point LNG facility in Maryland and the Sempra Energy-led Cameron LNG facility in Louisiana.

EIA further noted that natural gas deliveries to liquefied natural gas export terminals jumped for the week reaching 9.6 Bcf/d, up from 9.2 Bcf in the previous week.
