Annova LNG received the air quality permit by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The commission considered the application by Annova LNG during an online meeting, granting an air quality permit for the project.
Additionally, TCEQ considered rehearing requests filed by the project opponents. However, the commission turned down all these requests.
Annova LNG project will have the capacity to export 6.5 million tons of LNG per year. It will include six liquefaction trains, each with a nameplate capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum.
The facility will be located on the Port of Brownsville deepwater channel. It will use natural gas from the Agua Dulce, Texas region, for liquefaction.
To remind, the project received a permit from the U.S. Department of Energy in February to export LNG to non-FTA nations.
The 20-year authorization does not include countries with which trade is prohibited by U.S. law or policy.
As a result, Annova LNG secured a permit to export approximately 360 billion cubic feet per year (Bcf/yr.). This corresponds to 6.95 mtpa, the optimal production capacity of the facility.
Also, Annova LNG been authorized to construct and operate its mid-sized LNG export facility by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in November last year.
