Emergency management and wreck removal company Ardent, announced that it will no longer enter into new contracts from May 2020 on.
The decision emerges five years after the company’s establishment in 2015, following the merger of Svitzer Salvage and Titan Salvage.
Over the past five years, Ardent has completed over 300 contracts worldwide for the marine and oil & gas industry with 0 loss time incidents (LTIs), the company said.
These have included fire-stricken or grounded ships, deep sea oil recovery, UXO subsea work, decommissioning of offshore units as well as removal of major wrecks.
“Ardent has sold certain parts of its business to other providers, notably its OPA90 SMFF services. All current preparedness and salvage contracts will be fulfilled but outside of existing relations no more new salvage cases will be handled,” the salvage expert said.

The announcement comes on the heels of Ardent’s strategy refocus revealed back in December 2019, when the company said it would stop its decommissioning engagements and switch focus on its core business of emergency management and wreck removal.
Ardent also moved its headquarter from Houston, USA, to Ijmuiden, the Netherlands, where the new CEO, Oliver Timofei, and CFO, Jens Jaeger, are based.
