SPT Offshore has installed the first suction pile jacket foundation at the 300 MW CTGNE Yangxi Shaba Phase I offshore wind farm in China.

Earlier this year, Guangzhou Salvage Bureau appointed SPT Offshore to perform the suction installation services for what is the first such foundation in the South Chinese Sea.

The Netherlands-based company said it used its SAPS-007 suction pump spread for the work.

Yangjiang Shapa Phase 1 is being developed by the China Three Gorges Group 26km from Yangjiang at an area of ​​50km2 with water depths ranging from 27m to 32m.

The 300 MW offshore wind project comprises 55 5.5 MW turbines which delivered first electricity in November 2019.
